Forensics and police have been on the scene of a stabbing this morning, where a segment of the High Street was taped off.

A blood trail had been left along the walkway, with belongings also appearing to have been dumped.

Chalk had been used to outline the trail, with forensics taking pictures and samples as they inspected the scene.

Two police officers were patrolling the cordon and stopping public access.

One man, who lives above the crime scene, was overheard talking to the officer and being told he would not be able to keep coming and going.

Police have since revealed that a man in his forties was stabbed in the early morning.

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of an assault with injury at around 4.40am this morning (26/4) in High Street, Slough.

“The victim, a man in his forties, suffered a stab wound, and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

“There is a scene watch in place while officers investigate the assault.
