A house offering supported accommodation in the south west of Slough could be allowed extra bedrooms under plans submitted to Slough Borough Council.
Nisacraft Care wants to add a dormer to the three bed house on St Bernards Road to accommodate adults who need support.
Plans submitted to Slough Borough Council say Nisacraft house adults with mild learning difficulties or physical disabilities, but who don’t need nursing care.
The plans say: “Residents will have their own tenancy whereby the home becomes their sole residence and will be responsible for things such as domestic tasks ie. cooking, room cleaning, washing, getting dressed etc as well as managing bills and cost living with support from the staff.”
The home would also be operated by two members of staff at a time during day shifts, which are 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm. There will then be one member of staff on night duty.
Plans says two adults are already supported to live in the house – but Nisacare now wants to develop the loft to create an extra two bedrooms.
The loft has already been converted into one bedroom. Plans say: “The proposal intends to incorporate a flat roofed dormer extension to the rear facing elevation to increase the amount of usable space.”
