NEW homes, shop conversions and a new restaurant are just among some of the plans considered by Slough and Windsor councils this month.

In Slough, a charity shop is set to be converted into a restaurant, and a plan to convert a house into a home of multiple occupation (HMO) has been refused.

Meanwhile, in the Royal Borough, owners have applied to make changes to their homes, with one family applying for a wholesale replacement of their current house.

A plan to convert the Age Concern charity shop at 280 Farnham Road into a restaurant has been approved.

It now means the applicants can get to work changing the shopfront for the future restaurant, which will provide ‘a family friendly dining experience’ to customers.

The project also involves a kitchen extraction system, with the intention being for the restaurant to be open from 8am to 11.30pm each day.

Approved plans do not reveal the name of the restaurant, with the business owners expected to submit an advertising plan for signage at a later date.

However, Slough Borough Council’s planning department refused the application as converting a house into a five person plus HMO is not covered by permitted development.

The project would involve the demolition of an existing side extension, with the plot being arranged to provide three parking spaces.
