Some big changes to established businesses and buildings are on the way in Slough and the surrounding area according to plans submitted this week.

Firstly, a plan has been submitted to transform Ditton Park Manor into a hotel, wedding and conference venue, which would involve extensive works to buildings on the site which are hundreds of years old.

Meanwhile, a plan has been submitted to make changes to the closed Berkshire Garden Centre in Langley to bring it into use.

In the Royal Borough, a developer has submitted details for traffic management at a new estate on the outskirts of Windsor, and a company has changed its plans for retirement apartments in Maidenhead.

A plan has been submitted for substantial changes to Ditton Park Manor north of the M4 near Langley.

An upgrade project would involve conversion, extension and alteration of the existing Manor House and associated buildings, which include three gatehouses, the chapel and granary, to facilitate its flexible use as a hotel, wedding and conference venue.

This would include associated facilities including a bar, restaurant, and combine gym and spa.

The Manor is currently managed by the Active Hospitality property company.

However, no planning documents have appeared on the council’s planning portal yet.

Conversion of closed garden centre into stone sale business (SMI/2023/5)

A plan has been submitted to transform the closed Berkshire Garden Centre at and industrial estate in Langley, Slough so that it can be used to sell stone products.

The transformation would involve the partial replacement of buildings to facilitate the change in business.

Details of the plan are sparse because no documents have been submitted with the application.

A company called London Stone has a distribution centre next to the old garden centre, but it is not known whether the business submitted this application.

Details for 135 homes on outskirts of Windsor (RBWM app 23/01238/CONDIT)

Housebuilders Crest Nicholson, which has permission to build 135 homes west of Windsor has submitted a travel plan laying out details of how future occupants will get to and from the estate.

The travel plan relates to an outline application to build a new estate on unused land south of Maidenhead Road in the hamlet of Water Oakley where Windsor Marina is located.

The travel plan by I Transport proposes supplying residents with a  £75 sustainable travel voucher for every household, in an effort to  encourage public transport use and assist residents with the purchase of bicycles.

New 49 retirement apartments in Maidenhead (RBWM app 23/01142/FUL)

A developer has applied to build 49 retirement apartments on land between Gringer Hill and Hargrave Road in Maidenhead.

The site is undeveloped land immediately bordered by the De Beers Group office building, a sports pitch and the Craufurd Arms pub.

The applicant Lifestory Group is seeking to build the retirement apartments contained within one four storey building.

The new build come complete with a residents lounge kitchen, guest accommodation and 32 car parking spaces, of which three would have disabled access.

A previous plan for the site, reference 21/03493/FULL was approved but Lifestory has made adjustments.
