A DATCHET man is beginning a 10-month jail sentence after more than £500,000 worth of unlicensed-style Viagra was found in his garden shed.

Atilla Fodor, aged 38 years, was sentenced to ten months in prison at Reading Crown Court.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency raided Fodot's home where they found more than 267,000 doses of unlicensed erectile dysfunction medicines stored in a garden shed.

These drugs can only be sold on prescription in the UK. But when investigators searched Fodor's computer, they found he had sold more than 451,000 doses of unlicensed erectile dysfunction medicines which had netted him more than £27,000.

MHRA Head of Enforcement, Alastair Jeffrey, pointed out that selling unlicensed medicines is illegal and can pose a serious risk to health.

He said: "Unlicensed medicines can be dangerous as they may contain impurities, incorrect ingredients, and there is no way of knowing if they are manufactured to acceptable standards of quality and safety.

"Criminals involved in the illegal supply of medical products aren’t interested in your health - they are only interested in your money.

"MHRA will continue to track down and prosecute those who put the public’s health at risk."
